BRAND · BRAND GUARDIANSHIP
Keep your brand consistent long after the launch
Brands rarely fail at launch. They wear down slowly as new people, suppliers and channels each do things their own way. Brand guardianship keeps an eye on every channel and corrects drift before customers notice it.
Why consistency slips
A brand guide is written, the launch goes well, and then real life takes over. A new marketing assistant downloads the logo from Google Images. A partner designs a co-branded flyer in the wrong colours. The ad agency tweaks the tone to chase clicks. None of it is malicious, and each change seems small, but together they make the business look less sure of itself.
Guardianship is the ongoing work of preventing that. It means guidelines short enough to be read, templates that make the right thing the easy thing, and someone checking regularly that what goes out matches what was agreed. We take on that role for businesses that do not have a brand manager, or whose brand manager needs support.
What’s included
Practical guidelines
Brand rules rewritten or created for daily use: what to do, what to avoid and worked examples, kept to the length people will actually read.
Template library
Ready-made templates for presentations, documents, social posts, email signatures and adverts, built in the tools your team already uses.
Asset hub
One organised, shared location for approved logos, images and templates, with old versions removed so they stop circulating.
Scheduled channel checks
Regular reviews of your website, social profiles, adverts, listings and key documents against the guidelines, with a written list of issues.
Approvals on request
A quick review of new materials from your team or suppliers before they are published, with clear notes on anything to change.
Supplier briefings
A short brand briefing for new agencies, printers or partners, so they start from the right files and rules.
AI AT WORK
Where AI does the work
AI DOES
- Scans your website pages, social posts and live adverts for logo misuse, off-palette colours and outdated taglines
- Compares new copy with your tone-of-voice rules and highlights phrases that do not fit
- Keeps a running log of every issue found, with screenshots and dates, so nothing is lost between checks
YOUR SPECIALIST DECIDES
- Your director decides which issues matter and which are acceptable variations
- A designer reviews flagged materials and makes or briefs the corrections
- Guideline changes are agreed with you before they are published to the team
How we work
- 01Baseline checkA first review of every channel to establish where the brand stands today and what needs fixing first.
- 02MandateA written agreement on which channels we check, how often, the response time for approvals and the monthly budget.
- 03Tools and templatesWe tidy up the guidelines, build the templates your team is missing and set up the shared asset hub.
- 04Ongoing checksScheduled reviews across the agreed channels, with issues fixed or briefed to the right owner.
- 05Monthly statementA plain-English summary of what we checked, what we found, what was fixed and what we suggest changing next.
HOW WE MEASURE
How we measure it
The aim is fewer mistakes reaching customers and less time spent fixing them. The monthly statement tracks both.
- Issues found per check, by channel, and how quickly they were resolved
- Template use: share of new materials built from approved templates
- Outdated assets still in circulation, tracked down to zero
Is this right for you?
- Several people, teams or suppliers create materials in your name
- You have brand guidelines, but they are long, out of date or ignored
- You do not have a full-time brand manager, or yours needs extra hands
An indication, not a quote.
Questions we are asked
What is brand guardianship?
Brand guardianship is the ongoing work of keeping a brand consistent after it launches. It combines usable guidelines, ready-made templates, a single source of approved files and regular checks of every channel where the brand appears. When something drifts, such as a wrong logo version or off-brand copy, it is spotted, recorded and corrected before it spreads further.
How often do you check our channels?
That is agreed in the mandate and depends on how much you publish. A business posting daily across several social channels and running adverts benefits from frequent checks, while one with a stable website and occasional campaigns may need only a monthly review. Approvals for new materials are handled as they arrive, within the response time we agree.
Do we need to have been rebranded by you first?
No. We can look after any brand, whoever designed it. We begin with a baseline check and a review of your existing guidelines, then fill the gaps: missing templates, unclear rules or file versions that need replacing. If the brand itself needs more substantial work, we will say so, but guardianship does not depend on it.
